Fried Bread and Butter Chips

Bubbies Bread and Butter Chips are an eat-out-of-the-jar favorite snack, but they're especially addictive in this fried pickle recipe.

Ingredients

For Fried Pickles:

  • Oil for frying (canola, vegetable or peanut oil)
  • 1 jar of Bubbies Bread and Butter Pickles (drained and dried on paper towels)
  • 2 eggs (beaten)1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 – 2 ½ cups of panko bread crumbs.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp of fresh parsley or dill chopped for garnish

For Ranch Dip:

  • ½ cup of sour cream
  • ½ cup of Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp of minced fresh dill and parsley for garnish
  • ½ tsp each of dried parsley, onion powder, dried chives, garlic powder and dried dill
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Place all ingredients in a bowl, stir and pop back in the fridge until you’re ready to eat.

Directions

  1. Place oil in a larger pot, fill about ¼ of the way up and heat to about 375 degrees F.
  2. In three separate dishes (or plates) place flour, breadcrumbs, and beaten eggs and add ½ tsp of salt and pepper to each dish.
  3. Make an assembly line, Take drained and slightly dried pickles and dip them into the flour, then egg and then bread crumb mixture.
  4. Once the oil is hot enough place pickles (carefully) in the hot oil one at a time and fry until golden brown (about 2 mins or so), flip, and then pull out to drain on paper towels and salt right away.
  5. Repeat with the remaining pickles and check the temperature of the oil between batches to make sure it doesn’t get too hot or cold.
